Never just settle for a guy who doesn't meet up to the standards you've set for what you want your future husband to be like. I many times have been at fault for this, but have realized that all it takes is patience. I am the type of person who always likes for things to be done right when I want them done and have very little patience when it comes to waiting. I learned though that God's timing doesn't always meet up with our timing. As long as we are pasionately pursuing God and chasing after him, he will put everything else into place.
In order to find that Prince Charming, start praying for him right now. Pray for him to grow in his walk with the Lord, and pray for him to be a man after God's own heart. While we are praying God is preparing him to be a true man's man, a giant, one to look up to, a hero, a leader, strong, steady, dependable and one that you could place your life and the lives of your children into his capable and loving hands with no regrets or fears
With patience and God's timing, he will show up. Don't look for him, God will send him to you. So, finding the man of your dreams is easier than we make it out to be... all we have to do is pray and wait.

God's Comfort
"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have recieved from God. " 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
In these two verses, Paul is praising God for comforting him. God just doesn't offer comfort some of the time. He dosn't just give a little comfort. He doesn't ignore your pain. Instead, he sees what you are going through and is there to comfort you through it all.
God allows bad things to sometimes happen and the reason for that is that we learn to rely on him. If things always went good and we never had to go through hardships, then why would we need God? In 2 Corithians 1:9 it says, "Indeed, in our hearts we felt the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead." In order for us to not forget who God really is and that he is God and deserves all the glory, we have to face hardships in life and be reminded that we can't live this thing called life alone.
It's during these hard times that we find God's comfort the most.

Life Sometimes Stinks!
Just being honest, life sometimes just straight up stinks! This past week has been really hard and I'm ready for it to finally be over. Fall break comes tomorrow and I don't think that it can get here quick enough.
Sometimes life can get so tiring and we wonder why certain things may happen and we don't always understand why God allows these things to happen. The good thing is that we never have to go through it alone. Life brings many obstacles that we must overcome and with those obstacles we must learn to keep our eyes on God. For every mountain there is a valley, and this is something that we must also keep in mind. Life isn't always going to be hard. Just look ahead and keep in mind that there are better days to come.
I struggle with this all of the time. It's so easy to get discouraged and to let the ways of life get you down, but if we put all of our trust and faith in the Lord, he will see us through it.

God is Bigger
We live in a messed up world, but God is bigger than this messed up world. Even when things are messed up, we are still supposed to praise him and bring glory to his name. This is a hard thing to do. Especially when we are going through hard times. We often get wrapped up in feeling sorry for ourselves and miss what God might be trying to show us. There is never anything that God can't take care of. We just have to learn to turn it all over to Him and to trust that He is in control.
How great is our God? Is he not great enough to take care of us? He controls our every heartbeat and he can stop it at any point. Is this not enough to remind us of how he is control? It should also be a reminder of how we should fear God. He holds my heartbeat, my life and when I've sinned and am entering the pits of Hell, he holds and saves me... this is enough for me to trust and have faith in him.

Giving God What He Deserves
We need to stop worshiping things that don't really matter. We have only got on shot at this thing called life. Everday we worship something, but we need to often take a look at what it is that we are worshiping.
Each and everyday that we get up, we should be giving our very best LIFE of worship to God. Too often we try to do our own thing and then give God whatever we've got left. In other words, we just like to serve God when it is conveniet for us.
God is very plain in his word, God does not want or does not derserve our leftovers.
Does God look at our worship and ask us, "Is that all you got?" -- for the Creator of the Universe, the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords? God deserves more than that. He deserves our very best. Giving him our best consists of living a life of worship, giving God our very best, on a daily basis.
How about you? What are you worshiping with your life?
It's about time that we give God more thatn our leftovers and give Him the best that we have to give.
I don't want to hear God ask, "Is that all you got?" When I get to heaven I don't want to be on my knees trying to scrape up a little puddle that's left and give it to God.

Wow! This is the only word that I can really say right now. Over the past couple of weeks, God has really showed me so much.
It's amazing how God works and uses different things to show himself. All we have to do is listen and he makes it so clear. I couldn't even begin telling you how awesome it is to be able to clearly see what God's plans are and how everything just comes together on his time.
A friend was asking me earlier how I know that what I was hearing was really God. The only way I knew how to describe it was by saying that I have a peace about it and that I just now. You can't really describe it. One thing I do know for sure is that our God is not a God of confusion and that if we seek him and pursue him, he will guide and direct our paths. We just have to open ourselves up to him and allow him to speak.
It's hard many times for us to not let what WE want get in the way of what HE wants. We have to put all of our selfishness behind us and look to him for all of the answers.

"Yes Lord!"
"Now my heart is troubled, and what shall I say? 'Father, save me from this hour?' No, it was for this very reason I came to this hour. Father, glorify your name!" -John 12:27-28
At the beginning of this it is clear that Jesus did not want to die on the cross. We see this when he says that his heart is troubled. He even asks God if God himself will save him from having to die on the cross. Jesus knew though that for the very reason He had come here, was to die on the cross.
Many times as Christians we face things that we necessarily don't want to face. Being a Christian and being like Christ isn't always easy. As humans we naturally want to run from the things that God may be asking us to do. It's important that we learn to walk in obedience and say "Yes, Lord!" Walking in obedience takes faith and courage and doesn't just come over night. This is something that we have to work at. When we come to the point to where we automatically say, "Yes, Lord" and not think twice about saying when God tells us something is when we find ourselves right in the middle of God's will. When we find ourselves in the center of God's will, this is when God's glory is revealed, which is our ultimate purpose here on Earth. This purpose is to bring glory to His name!

Doritos = Walk With God
Well i was sitting at my desk eating Doritos and was thinking to myself... wow I have almost ate this whole bag of chips. It got me to thinking...
Our walk with God should be like eating a bag of Doritos. You know how if the bag of Doritos is just sitting there and you are thinking about eating a chip, but you know once you eat that first chip, you are going to want another one. You know you can never have just one chip.
Our relationship with God should be that of one to where we can never get enough of him. He should become the number one desires of our souls and we should constantly want nothing more than to pursue our relationship with him. The only way we are going to grow is if we become hungry for God and yearn to be closer to him.

In His Arms
I love the lyrics to the song "In My Arms". The words are so encouraging and help me remember that I'm not walking my journey alone. God is with me every step. With every step I take, he is also there. He holds me during the hard times and even when I have left him all of the other times when I didn't think I needed him. He loves us no matter what. His unconditional love will never fade. It's comforting knowing that my God will never leave me and that he is always holding me safe in his arms no matter what.
In My Arms - By Plumb
Your baby blues
So full of wonder
Your curly cues
Your contageous smile
And as I watch
You start to grow up
All I can do is hold you tight
Knowing clouds will rage
And storms will race in
But you will be safe in my arms
Rains will pour down
Waves will crash all around
But you will be safe in my arms
Story books full of fairy tales
Of kings and queens and the bluest skies
My heart is torn just in knowing
You'll someday see the truth from lies
Knowing clouds will rage
And storms will race in
But you will be safe in my arms
Rains will pour down
Waves will crash all around
But you will be safe in my arms
Castles they might crumble
Dreams may not come true
But you are never all alone
Because I will always
Always love you
Clouds will rage
And storms will race in
But you will be safe in my arms
Rains will pour down
Waves will crash all around
But you will be safe in my arms

Empty Me
Empty Me - Chris Sligh
I've had just enough of the spotlight
When it burns bright
To see how it gets in the blood
And I've tasted my share
Of the sweet life
And the wild ride
And found a little is not quite enough
I know how i can stray
And how fast my heart could change
Empty me
Of the selfishness inside
Every vain ambition
And the poison of my pride
And any foolish thing my heart holds to
Lord empty me of me
So i can be
Filled with you
Ive seen just enough of the quick buys
Of the best lies
To know how prodigals can be drawn away
I know how I can stray
And how fast my heart could change
Empty me
Of the selfishness inside
Every vain ambition
And the poison of my pride
And any foolish thing my heart holds to
Lord empty me of me
So I can be
Filled with you
Cuz everything is a lesser thing Compared to you
Compared to you
Cuz everything is a lesser thing
Compared to you
So I surrender all
Empty me
Of the selfishness inside
Every vain ambition
And the poison of my pride
Empty me
Of the selfishness inside
Every vain ambition
And the poison of my pride
And any foolish thing my heart holds to
Lord empty me of me
So I can be
Lord empty me of me
So I can be
Filled with you.
Filled with you
Empty me
God,
I want to rid myself of everything that doesn't bring glory to your name. I belong to you God, so please draw me close to you and bring me to my knees. I want to follow in your way and just live for the day. I don't want to worry about the past, for I know that my future is in tact. I am just going to focus on today instead. I am going to set my mind on the here and now, this is how I want to live my life.
Life gets so crazy, but God I know you are holding my hand all the way. You walk every step with me.
So here I am... make me more like you...

HOME!
I came home yesterday for the first time since school started. It was so good to be home and to see my family. I have an identical twin sister who goes to North Greenville also, but the rest of my siblings are younger than me. Melanie is my twin and I have a sister, Morgan, who is 14 and in the ninth grade. My other sister, Marissa, is 12 and she is in the seventh grade. Then, last but not least, my little brother, Matthew. He is 8 years old and is in the third grade. I call him my little man. There is a ten year age difference between my brother and I and I think this is the reason we are so close. I have always helped my Mom with him and so now I feel like I almost have a motherly instinct with him.

My parents are Mark and Nikki and they have been married for 20 years. They have always done a great job at raising all of us and I couldn't ask for any better parents.
I love my family and miss them while I'm at school. It's hard coming from a big family, to school where it's just my twin and I. My family has always been close and we always do things together. So coming home this weekend has been great so far because we all have just spent family time together.

Surrender
"In the same way, any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple."
Luke 14:33
Hmm... I read this during my devotion today and it made me think...
Have I been giving my everything to God? What does this mean?... Surrender. Surrendering my life to him means to let go of whatever has been holding me back from what God wants for my life. Surrendering to God means to let him take complete control of my life and acknowledging that I own nothing, it's all His. If I lived my life like this and completely did away with the thought that I control my life and let go of all of my selfishness, I would automatically want God's way first.
When walking in complete surrender to God, we must also walking in obedience. No matter what it is that God wants of us we have to learn to respond with one answer, "Yes Lord!" This is such a hard thing to do. Especially when it's something that requires us to step out of our comfort zone. The cool thing is that we can never go wrong walking in obedience to God.
This is a hard topic for me. I like to be in control, but I often get lost in what I want instead of what God wants for me. I yearn to live a life of complete surrender and I know that although it may seem hard when thinking about giving EVERYTHING up and giving it to God, but in the end it's all worth it.
God,
Help me to live a life of complete surrender. I don't own anything and I know that it is all yours. I give you complete control of everything in my life.

"Somewhere in The Middle"
In Psalm 1 it says: "Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on this law he meditates day and night...."
Many times we find oursleves knowing what is right and what is wrong, and having to make a choice. A lot of times we go toward what is wrong instead of what is right. We get stuck in the ways of the world many times, but at the same time we find ourselves wanting to do what God wants us to do. It's natural for us to follow in the ways of the world since we are all born into sin, but how far can we push it? How long can we go knowing that we are walking in sin, but at the same time we know what is right, without surrendering our life to him?
I can't help but to ask myself what if I completely surrendered my life to God? What if I was no longer caught in the middle of right and wrong and instead of just seeing the differences, I lived out the life that God has planned for me? Living the life of surrender consists of always, no matter what saying "yes Lord". This is a really hard thing for me to do. I am not always comfortable with what God is saying to me or with what God wants for me. I am learning... it's hard... but slowly I am learning to hold on to "Not my will, but YOURS be done" and to just give it all to God.
"Somewhere between the hot and the cold
Somewhere between the new and the old
Somewhere between who I am and who I used to be
Somewhere in the middle, You'll find me
Somewhere between the wrong and the right
Somewhere between the darkness and the light
Somewhere between who I was and who You're making me
Somewhere in the middle, You'll find me
Just how close can I get, Lord, to my surrender without losing all control
Fearless warriors in a picket fence,
reckless abandon wrapped in common sense
Deep water faith in the shallow end and we are caught in the middle
With eyes wide open to the differences,
the God we want and the God who is
But will we trade our dreams for His or are we caught in the middle
Are we caught in the middle
Somewhere between my heart and my hands
Somewhere between my faith and my plans
Somewhere between the safety of the boat and the crashing waves
Somewhere between a whisper and a roar
Somewhere between the altar and the door
Somewhere between contented peace and always wanting more
Somewhere in the middle You'll find me
Just how close can I get, Lord, to my surrender without losing all control
Lord, I feel You in this place and I know You're by my sideLoving me even on these nights when I'm caught in the middle"

New Chapter
College! It's something that we all can't wait for as we go through middle school and high school. You grow up with an idea of what college is going to be like and by the time your senior year arrives, you can't wait for college to finally get here.
I had high expectations of my senior year, just like any other uprising senior. I had all of the football games planned out, I had a long list of things to do before I graduated, and I had everything all worked out in my head of how I wanted things to go. Unfortunately my senior didn't go the way I had planned. Different things came up within my family that caused a lot of stress. One thing being, my Dad lost his job. God blessed my Dad for years with a thriving construction business. I grew up knowing that I could get whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. I don't ever remember waking up to a Christmas and wishing that I had something that I had asked for and didn't receive. God being the God that he is, showed my humility through it all and I learned so much about life.
Having gone through some other things this past year, I have also learned that there are some things in life that just don't make since. There are things that as humans that we have to learn to just turn them over to God and walk in His love and know that God allows circumstance to occur, to shape is into the person He wants us to be. Even when things don't turn out the way that we want them to. Sometimes life will be painful, but through it all, God, in His love, wants us to become more like him. Faith... this is a hard thing to live by, but faith is also a very powerful thing. In the Bible it says that if we have the faith of a mustard seed, that we can move mountains. Wow! That's a hard thing to grasp. I'm not going to lie... faith for me is hard.
In September of 2008, I visited North Greenville for the first time. I wasn't sure if i really wanted to go to North Greenville, but I came with my school because I wanted to have a "free-day" from class. So, I came... the moment I stepped foot on to this campus, I knew right then and there that this was where God wanted me
...So this is where my journey of getting to North Greenville started...
I went back to school and told my counselor that I needed help. Neither of my parents have ever been to college and I had no clue how to begin the process of going to college. I told him my family's situation and he told me of I started working back in September of 2008 getting all of my financial stuff together because I knew that with my Dad losing his job and us not having any money put back for school that I was going to have to work extra hard to get all of the money together. I had some academic scholarships and a couple of other things, but it wasn't enough for my full tuition. Also, considering the fact that I have a twin sister who wanted to come to North Greenville, made it even more of a challenge. It took a lot and was a long stressful road.
Two weeks before I moved to North Greenville, I didn't think that I was going to get to move. My sister and I couldn't get all of our financial stuff together and it seemed impossible that we would ever get to North Greenville. I sat down with my parents as we tried to figure out what we were going to do and it hit me... God had gotten us this far. Did I really think that he was going to let go know? I knew without a doubt that North Greenville was were God wanted me to be and having all of this in mind, I reminded that God is incontroll and that with him NOTHING is impossible. Four days later everything finally worked. He didn't work it out right when I wanted him to, but He worked it out in His time - the best time!
Now I am here at North Greenville and as I look back over the past year, I see how God has worked in my life in so many different ways. God has showed me so much and although I may not be spiritually where I was a couple of years ago, I know that God has me here for a reason. I am excited about this new chapter in my life and about all that God has in store for me. I am anxious and ready to see him more and to be drawn closer to him.

Lost in His Love
I'm in over my head.
Not sure of where I'm going.
I'm lost in your love,
But I'm where I want to be.
Yœur love covers me
And I'm at the place where my soul is at rest.
I'm in over my head.
Not sure of where I'm going.
I'm lost in your love,
But I'm where I want to be.
Yœur love covers me
And I'm at the place where my soul is at rest.
I'm in over my head.

Answers to Life
Sometimes life doesn't always make sense. I've always been the person who likes to know what's next and I always like to have everything worked out right then. I'm learning though that patience is a virtue and that sometimes the easy way isn't God's way. God's timing is never wrong. It may never be when we WANT it, but its always when we NEED it.One day at a time and one step at a time is the way I'm learning to live my life right now. Our God isn't a God of confusion.
"I lift my eyes into the skies. Where does my help come from? My help comes from the lord, the maker of heaven and earth."

I Run To You
When the world gets me down-
I run to you.
When life doesn't go like I planned,
When I'm so confused and I don't understand,
It's hard because it's out of my hands,
But I run to you.
When I don't know what to do,
And I think I can't make it through,
I run to you.
Sometimes life brings you pain,
But I know just what to do,
I run to you.

Faith
We beg for everything and pray it's not too late.
Everybody's got to kneel, there's no way to re-invent the will.
Everybody's got to stand up on their feet,
But when your spirit gets too weak,
When the water seems so deep,
When the mountain seems too steep,
When you think there is just no way,
He will be there for you night and day.
We beg for courage to overcome our fears.
We no longer want the pain and tears.
We have to stop trying to heal,
We have to get on our knees and kneel.

God's Love

This is truly the great love story of my life... that my Creator chose me. He chose me in my sin. He chose me despite my rebellion. And He loves me so deeply that He allowed His Son to die on a cross for me. I am humbled and yet, I'm in awe. All of my life I have been loved by the One who created me. He knew me when I breathed my first breath and He will hold my head as I take my last. No, I can't comprehend this love but I do know that it is there for all of us.
